How does the calculator work?

This calculator provides an indicative estimate of spousal maintenance. It considers the entitled spouse’s justified needs, the obliged spouse’s earning/asset capacity, and the legal scenario under Article 60 of the Polish Family and Guardianship Code. The result is informational only and does not replace a court’s assessment.

Assumptions

1) The core driver is the entitled spouse’s deficit (needs minus income). 2) The obliged spouse’s capacity is estimated as a share of income, without full cost‑of‑living analysis. 3) “Need‑based” corresponds to Article 60 §1. 4) “Significant deterioration” corresponds to Article 60 §2 and requires exclusive fault of the other spouse. 5) The reduction factor is only a simulation of partial claim acceptance or litigation risk. 6) Maintenance may end e.g., upon remarriage of the entitled spouse or a material change in circumstances.

Examples

• Entitled spouse income 2,500 PLN, needs 4,500 PLN, obliged spouse income 9,000 PLN.
