How does the calculator work?

Shows the purchasing power of your savings after a chosen number of years at a given annual inflation rate. Formula: real value = amount ÷ (1 + inflation%)^years. The result is the equivalent in "today's" zloty — how much you could buy. The calculator is indicative; inflation varies in practice.

FAQ

What is purchasing power?

Purchasing power is the real value of money — how much goods and services you can buy with it. With inflation, the same amount in a few years has lower purchasing power (you can buy less).

Where to get the inflation figure?

The calculator uses an indicative annual inflation rate (e.g. from GUS or NBP forecasts). In practice inflation changes year to year — the result is illustrative.

Does the calculator include deposit interest?

No. It only shows the effect of inflation on purchasing power. If savings are in a deposit or investment, real gain is (interest − inflation). You can calculate that separately.

Why calculate purchasing power?

To see how much your savings will be worth in the future in today's zloty. It helps with planning spending and choosing how to save.
