Frequently asked questions

Answers to the most common questions about calculators in the topic Contracts and notary.

Contractual penalty = agreed rate (percentage or daily amount) x calculation base. The calculator multiplies these values. A court may reduce it if the penalty is grossly excessive.

A deposit (zadatek) is forfeited or returned doubled — depending on which party withdraws. An advance payment (zaliczka) is always returned upon cancellation, without additional consequences.

The notary fee is legally capped and depends on transaction value. Up to PLN 60,000 — max. PLN 1,010; from PLN 60,000 to PLN 1,000,000 — PLN 1,010 + 0.4% of the surplus. The calculator shows the full breakdown.

A withdrawal fee is a pre-agreed amount paid by the party withdrawing from the contract. The calculator applies the agreed rate and calculation method from the contract.
